All of our instructors are ex Armed Forces personnel with years of military experience. You will gain lots of useful Military skills, knowledge and fitness which will prepare you for each stage of your application. You’ll even wear a military based uniform whilst with MPCT.

No. We will make sure that you work at a level that is suitable for you. Your fitness will improve naturally as you take part in exercise every day at the college.

Yes, the training is free due to the course being part funded by the European Social Fund.

Yes. All students on the programme wear the college uniform. This makes them part of the team and gives them a sense of pride. Details on your uniform will be explained on day one. If you want to see the uniforms please click here to visit the store.

No. You will still live at home whilst attending your local Military Preparation College but you will have the opportunity to go on overnight exercises.

You will receive individual careers advice whilst on the course to help you with your vocational choices.

No, you will be supported in whatever career path you choose to follow. Although the course is based on military values, it will give you the confidence and employability skills to succeed in any career you choose

Yes. You will be eligible to have up to 35 days’ holiday per year.

Unlike traditional colleges, you can start anytime during the year. This is usually within a week of applying.

Here’s our checklist to make sure your son/daughter brings everything they need:

  • Bank details (so that you can receive your funding)
  • Parental consent form
  • Health and fitness screening form
  • Nutrition questionnaire
  • Proof of identity (driver’s licence or passport)
  • Any certificates already achieved
  • National Insurance Number
  • Financial support application form (if applicable)
  • Bursary-funded uniform form (if applicable)
